Mary Wiggins Cotton

Funeral Service Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Mary Wiggins Cotton, 88, of West Monroe, will be 11:00 AM Friday, July 8, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro, with her son, John Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Winnsboro, LA .

Mrs. Cotton was born January 11, 1934, and passed away on July 3, 2022. She was a member of Newiona Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Cotton was a lifetime educator in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. She authored six novels and one family cookbook.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Olevia Wiggins; three brothers, Louis “Elmo” Wiggins, Robert Wiggins, and James Isaac Wiggins; two husbands, Lynn Parker and Robert E. Cotton.

Survivors include her nine children, Barry Parker of Monroe, LA, Keith Parker of Downsville, LA, Mary McDavid and husband Gail of Carencro, LA, Michael Parker of Downsville, LA, Debbie Meadows and husband Donnie of Lake Providence, LA, John Parker and wife Vickie of Garland, TX, Susan Hovinen and husband David of Irving, TX, Lisa Clark and husband David of McKinney, TX, and Geoff Cotton of Jacksonville, FL; 31 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 9:00AM until 11:00AM Friday, July 8, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Winnsboro.
