Mary Thomason Johnston
October 16, 1927 — May 18, 2012
Mary J (Thomason) Johnston passed away after a brief illness on May 18, 2012, at Tomball Regional Medical Center with her family at her side.
Mary was born to Thomas & Ammie Thomason on Oct 16.1927 and was the eldest of nine children. On March 12, 1946 she married Edward Johnston. Mary and Edward were proud parents of 5 children.
While Mary held jobs outside the home throughout her life, she was always a wife, mother, and grandmother first. She will be remembered for her cooking, sewing, caring for friends and family, and always making sure everyone felt loved and welcome in her home.
She and her family moved from Louisiana to Texas in 1974. Later, she and Edward joined two of their children in Magnolia, TX where Edward passed away on July 21, 2004. Mary was a devoted Christian and was most recently active with the Central Baptist Church in Tomball.
Survivors include a daughter,: Anne Wiley (Husband Jeff Wiley), three sons: Glynn Johnston, Mark Johnston (Wife Judy Johnston), Duane Johnston (partner John Kellems) Sue Johnston and David Morris. She had 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Services at Mulhern Funeral Home in Winnsboro at 10:30 am Wednesday, May 23rd, with internment to follow at Hewitt Cemetary, Mangham, LA.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 23rd from 8:30 a.m. till time of service at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
