Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jo Boyt Baldwin, 97, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 31, 2025, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, with Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. She was born in Cordele, GA on August 7, 1927, and passed away at home surrounded by her children on January 27, 2025. 

Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. on Friday, January 31, 2025, in the parlor at St. Paul’s UMC.

Mrs. Baldwin and family were early members of Southside United Methodist Church and remained an active member of the Lea Joyner United Methodist Church. She was an active member and contributor of the North Louisiana Quilters Guild.

Her professional life was as a medical technologist for many years beginning in 1948 at Charity Hospital. She dedicated much of her life to loving and caring for her family, children, and grandchildren. She was amazingly patient, caring, and kind to everyone she met. 

The family would like to thank the ladies who gave her kind and compassionate care over the past year: Mary Raino, Gladys Cheffin, Wynetta Jackson, Rasha Wiley, and the Louisiana Hospice. The family is grateful to each of you.

Mrs. Baldwin was preceded in death by her husband, O.J. "Jerry" Baldwin; her son, Phillip Baldwin; and her siblings, Dorothy, Robert, and Joyce.

Survivors include her children: Kathy Letsinger and husband, Doug; John Baldwin and wife, Stephanie; Paul Baldwin; and Jill Mouk and husband, Jeff; daughter-in-law, Laura Baldwin; grandchildren: Darrin Letsinger, Ashley Letsinger, Brian Baldwin and wife, Lindsey; Amy Miles and husband, Beau; Mackenzie Reed and husband, Tyler; Mary-Brooks Baldwin; Emily Hughes and husband, Beau; Jackson Baldwin; Luke Baldwin; Michael Baldwin; and Quinton Baldwin; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Jonah, Bryce, Sarah, Madelyn, Evelyn, Hayes, Alivia, Joey, and Benaiah; and beloved nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearer honors will be held by her grandsons. Memorials may be made to two cherished ministries of Mrs. Baldwin: St Paul’s United Methodist Church Children’s Fund and the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank.
