Mary Butler
Funeral service for Helen B. Butler, age 88, of Long Beach, MS, will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Friendship Baptist Church in Baskin, LA with Rev. Prentice Ray Gandy officiating. Interment will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
She was born April 4, 1930 in Jones County, MS, to Barney Bunch and Effie Autry Bunch and passed away on January 2, 2019. Mrs. Butler worked at Forrest General Hospital in dialysis unit while she was living in Hattiesburg. Later she moved to Long Beach and enjoyed gardening with beautiful plumeria and pepper. Mrs. Bennett enjoyed being outside and working in the dirt. She loved to cook and bake. She always had a cake baked for unsuspecting visitors. Mrs. Butler always greeted everyone with a smile, a hug and at some point you would be called “Sugar”.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother and stepfather, Eugene Butler; and a son, Glynn Butler.
She is survived by her children, Alete Duprey of Long Beach and Mike Butler of Monroe, LA; grandchildren, Andrea Wilkie of Luling, LA, Jason Carroll of Brandon, MS, Valerie Daniel of Monroe, LA, and Lacey Hill of Mandeville, LA; and 9 great grandchildren, Carson Wilkie, Ella Wilkie, Madi Brown, Maeci Brown, Jaxon Carroll, Peyton Daniel, Butler Daniel, Isabelle Hill, and Marli Kate Hill. Sister, Gladys McCardle of Ovett, MS.
Visitation will be from 10:00AM until service time Saturday, January 12, 2019, at Friendship Baptist Church.
