Mary Gwyn Thurmond, age 90, passed away at her home in Sterlington, LA on January 6, 2020. She was born May 25, 1929 in Monroe, LA to Sarah Elizabeth Thurmond and Nathaniel Burton Thurmond.
She was preceded in death by her husband Gordon Emery Gilmore (b. 1926 d. 1958);daughter, Marion Gay Gilmore (b. 1957 d. 1958); second husband Francis James Burton (b. 1926 d. 1980).
She is survived by her daughters, Mona Ami Gilmore Perez (Anthony), Monica Ann Gilmore Gattra (Richard), Melanie A. Gilmore Doornbos (William), Michelle Burton VanGorder (Matthew), and Mary Frances Burton. She is also survived by grandchildren, AJ, Gwyne, John, Adam, Greg, Matthew, Taylor, Myles, and Kendra; great-grandchildren, Cali, Ace, Sophie, Gianna, Melina, Mariana, Karmello, Emiliano, Alex, Kellianne, and Alexis.
Graveside Services will held at 11:00 AM Wedensday, Janaury 22, 2020, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM Wedensday, at the funeral home.
