Mary Guirlando

Funeral services for Mary Guirlando, 78, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 3, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Job Edathinatt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ms. Guirlando was born August 4, 1939, and passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2018. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church and the Progressive Men’s Club Auxiliary. Ms. Guirlando was an avid movie goer and an Elvis fanatic. She loved her dog “Lucky”, but most of all she loved spending time with family.

Ms. Guirlando was preceded in death by her parents, Rocco and Virginia Guirlando; brothers, Joseph and Victor Guirlando; and beloved nephew, Matthew Lawrence Elliott.

Survivors include her sister, Liberta Sylvestri; brothers, Louis Guirlando, Leon Guirlando, and Rocco Guirlando, Jr.; a multitude of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and special friend, Kathy Bond.

Pallbearers will be Gabe Elliott, Tony Guirlando, Joe Guirlando, Jr., Nick Sylvestri, Rocco Sylvestri, and Vincent Sylvestri, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be other nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the staffs of Farmerville Nursing and Rehab Center and The Oaks Nursing Home.

Memorials may be made to St. Frederick High School Stem Building Fund.
