Mary Frances "Mamie" "Butsie" Pitarro

A funeral mass celebrating the life of Mrs. Mary Frances (Mamie) (Butsie) nee Morrell, Pitarro, 89, of West Monroe, LA will be held at Noon Tuesday December 27, 2016 at the St. Paschal Catholic Church in West Monroe, LA with Rev. Joe Martina officiating. Interment will be in St. Matthew Catholic Cemetery in Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Pitarro died December 22, 2016 at the Ridgecrest Nursing Home.

Mrs. Pitarro was a member of three catholic churches in our area, St. Joseph, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Paschal. She was very active in all three serving on all of the Altar Societies and as a Eucharistic Minister. She was the recipient of the Shreveport Diocese Medal of Recognition for her dedicated service to St. Paschal Catholic Church. Mamie was a member of the PMC, Msgr Vandegar KC and VFW ladies’ auxiliary, the Red Hat Society and Sassy Senioritas Line Dancers. She loved being with all of her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mariano and Rosalie Morrell; her husband, Charles F. Pitarro, Jr.; her brothers, Sam and Peter Morrell; her sisters, Vida Bondi, Rosalie Clark, Josephine John, Sadie Chriss, and Lucille Bazile.

Survivors: daughter, Roselyn Pitarro and her fiancé’, Lewis Mingledorff; son, Charles F. (Frankie) Pitarro, III and his wife, Tammy; grandson, Brian Pitarro; Sister, Mrs. Catherine (Katie) Miletello; brother-in-law, Salvadore C. Pitarro; sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances P. Conti; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Leon Miletello, Jr., Jim Worthey, Ricky Worthey, Ronnie Miletello, Gene Bazile, and Steve Christ.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Miletello, Michael Fontana, and Greg Richards.

Visitation will be from 10:00 until 11:30 AM on Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.

The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers; the staff of Rosemont, Ridgecrest and St. Joseph Hospice.
