Mary Frances “Alice” Goza Burford

Graveside service for Mrs. Mary Frances “Alice” Goza Burford, 95, of Monroe will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev. John P. Mabray officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.

Mrs. Burford passed away on June 3, 2020, at St. Joseph’s Nursing Home. She was a member of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Monroe and a member of the Circle 2 Women of the church. She was a housewife and enjoyed cooking and all the activities of her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Burford enjoyed sewing, crochet, fishing, and hosting fish frys for all occasions. She liked to watch football, golf, and followed Louisiana Tech football and attended quarterback club. Mrs. Burford was a graduate of Neville High School and attended Northeast Junior College (ULM).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Franklin Goza and Thelma Ward Hall Goza; husband of 65 years, William A. Burford, Jr.; grandchildren, Jeffrey Dale Carter and Stacy Lynn Carter Pickering; and daughter-in-law, Ginni Orr Burford.

Survivors include her sons, Billy R. Burford, Lee R. Burford, and Ken F. Burford (Brenda); daughter, Dianne Burford Carter (Tim); grandchildren, Mindy Burford Adams (Bryan), LeAnne Burford Haley (Kendall), Ashley Burford Murray (Patrick), Matthew Burford and fiancée Kelsey, Terrina Rogers (Andy), Richard Murphy (Meshawn), and Crystal Benson (Jason); great grandchildren, Fisher Adams, Andy Adams, Brodie Haley, Claire Haley, Eileen Murry, Collin Murry, and Bailey Carter Pickering.

Memorials may be made to Covenant Presbyterian Church in Monroe or to your favorite charity.
