Mary Edna Goodrum, 87 years young, of West Monroe, LA went to be with her Lord on November 25, 2012, two days following her birthday celebration. She was born in Richland Parish on November 23, 1925 to Orlando and Zelma LaBorde Flowers. Mrs. Goodrum is preceded in death by her parents; husband, E. C. Goodrum; son, Michael Goodrum; brother, Jessee Flowers and sister, Myrtis Gibson.
Surviving to cherish her memories are her daughter, Charlotte Lyerly; four grandchildren, Ken Goodrum, Todd McCullin, Tonya Harris and Shannon Legato; and three great grandchildren, Payton Young, Ashton Hayes and Sloan Young.
Mrs. Goodrum was a member of Good Hope Baptist Church for 52 years. She enjoyed a very full life and delighted in her card playing and quilting friends. Mrs. Goodrum was known for her gentle soul, caring ways and love of the Lord. She will be greatly missed.
Memorials may be made to the Good Hope Baptist Church in Mrs. Goodrum’s honor.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Friday, November 30, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 1, 2012 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Bruce McGee and Rev. David Chapman officiating. Interment will follow in the Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA.
