A funeral mass celebrating the life of Mary Phoebe Miller Detor, 92, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 02, 2024, at St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church in West Monroe, LA with The Reverend Rob Harkness officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
Visitation will be from 10 AM until service time in St. Patrick’s Parish Hall.
Mrs. Detor was born on July 15, 1931 in Charleston, MO and died peacefully at home on April 26, 2024.
Mrs. Detor was a member of St. Patrick’s Episcopal, where she served on numerous committees and was the church secretary for many years. She was administrative assistant to Dr. Baker at University of Louisiana Monroe, LA. She had a love for reading, telling stories, and spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, The Reverend George Detor; four brothers, John Davis Miller, Floyd Miller, Robert Miller, and Miles Miller.
Survivors include her daughter, Laura D. Johnson and her husband, Quentin; Son, George Detor, II and his wife, Annelies; Granddaughters, Elizabeth Feazel (Josh Beaty), and Aurora Detor; Grandson, Barron Detor; Sister, Viola Nugent; Brother, James Miller (Alice); numerous nieces and nephews; and neighbors that have become family.
Pallbearers will be Dusty Miller, George Brown, Kevin Gibson, Randy Miller, Chris Miller, and Denny Williamson.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Ethan Hilton, Rhoda Brown, Thomas Hayward, James Miller, Johnny Miller, and Ted Potor.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Passages Hospice, especially Dee, Crystal, and Amanda for taking such good care of her and being there to love her during her final days.
