Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 Wednesday, April 28, 2021.
Mary was born February 3, 1946 in Delhi, LA to her father, Ernest A. Ogden, Sr. and her mother, Wilma Ogden.
Mary started her career in childcare in 1978 when she opened Mary’s Daycare Center in her home. She went on to own and operate Early Years Child Development Center until 2007. Her passion for children and the influence she made on the children in her care was astonishing, she was known to always go the extra mile for each and every child. After 30 years in the childcare profession, she “retired” lasting about a week. Being the “go-getter” we all knew, she started Foundation for Early Learning where she taught and trained a multitude of child care directors and staff throughout Louisiana. To say she was talented, outgoing, and educated is not merely enough, as most others would agree. At the age of 72, she earned the degree of Associate of Applied Science in Care and Development of Young Children. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, Charles R. Humphries, her children, Karyn Graves Boggs (Nelson) and Michael Graves (DeAnna), grandchildren, Courtney Brooks (Jason), Bethany Sutton, Toni Graves, and Hunter Brooks, Great granddaughter and most precious to her, McKenzie Brooks, Great Great grandson, Parker Brooks. Mary is also survived by stepsons, Nathan and Chris (Sheree), step grandchildren, Hemi and Mia, her sister, Barbara, brothers, Alan, Moose, and Steve, many nieces, and nephews, in-laws and extended family and friends.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Scott Haynes, Dr. Mark Haynes, Dr. Ray Smith, Dr. Kirtan Koticha for going above and beyond for her and all of us, as well as all staff at Claiborne Memorial Medical Center. The time and patience into the research you have done will never be forgotten.
Pallbearers will be Michael Ardoin, Brett Turner, Quincey Hammett, Paul Ogden, Robbie Ogden, and Jake Ogden
