Mary Elizabeth Brown

Graveside services celebrating the life of Mary Elizabeth Brown, 89, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, January 3, 2025, at the pavilion at Hasley Cemetery with Bro. Kevin Stewart and Patrick Petrus officiating. A celebration of her life will be held after the service in the home of Wayne and Kay Petrus.

Mrs. Brown was born on October 6, 1935, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on December 23, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Joe Lee Brown; son, John “Jay” Byrd Brown; mother, Louise Byrd; father, Elmer Roy Byrd; sister-in-law, Juanita Byrd; and son-in-law, Kirk Petterson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Donna “Kay” Petrus (Wayne) and Nancy Brown Petterson; grandchildren, Lindsey Ward, Katie Petterson, Andrew Petterson, Rami Petterson, Megan Turner, Mallory Cullan; great grandchildren, Piper Ward, Ana Marie Jabbia, Francesca “Frankie” Hamilton; August Andrew “Gus” Petterson, Arabella Turner, and Braxton Turner; sister, Barbara Byrd Taylor (Larry); and brother, Richard Roy “Bud” Byrd.
