Mary Ann Smith HugginsFuneral Services for Mrs. Mary Ann Smith Huggins, 68, of Chatham, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, September 22, 2015 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Danny Sidders and Stacey Wyles officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Mrs. Huggins was born on April 15, 1947 in Winnsboro, LA and passed away on September 19, 2015 in West Monroe, LA. She graduated with honors from Ouachita Parish High School in 1965. Mary Ann married the love of her life, Chum Huggins on December 19, 1966. Together they raised three boys, whom she faithfully supported through all of their endeavors. She had a special passion as a baseball mom while they played in the Monroe Youth Baseball League. Mary Ann touched the lives of many children in her years as secretary for Ouachita Parish Elementary and Junior High Schools until she retired in 1990.Mrs. Huggins was preceded in death by her father, Reggie Smith; brother, B.H. Smith; uncle and aunt, Clyde and Petty Bradley.Survivors include her husband, Charles “Chum” Huggins; mother, Imogene Wyles Powell; three sons, Jeff Huggins and wife Jackie, Mark Huggins and wife, L.A., and Greg Huggins and wife Nikki; grandchildren, Alexis and Haley Huggins, Morgan and Tommy Huggins, Destin and Dillon Piercy, Cambryn Tucker and Kiley, Kamryn and Kason Huggins; one great grandchild, Rhett Chandler; brothers, Roger Smith and wife Sherry, David Smith and Larry Powell; sisters-in-law, Betsi Huggins Wall and husband Fred and Connie Sue Duke; special friend and cousin in her life, that she considered her sister, Dixie Franklin; along with numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Mike Fendall, Mike Travis, Chad Smith, Ryan Smith, Todd Kennedy and Jerome Eves. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, September 21, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Special thanks to her dear friend and sister-in-law, Betsi Huggins Wall for being by her side through difficult times. She showed true devotion to her family when she was needed the most.
