Mrs. Mary Ann Roberson passed away on April 29, 2009; visitation will be held Thursday, May 7, 2009, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe. Funeral services for Mrs. Roberson, 79, of West Monroe, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 8, 2009, in Feazel Chapel of First Baptist Church, West Monroe with the Reverend Mark Fenn and Senior Pastor Woods Watson officiating. Internment will follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home.
After graduating from Messick High School in Memphis, Tennessee, she lived in Helena, Arkansas, for a while; she then made her home in West Monroe, Louisiana. As an active member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe, Mrs. Roberson was an integral part of her Sunday School Class, which she enjoyed so much. She worked for Manville Forest Products for 20 years, retiring in 1989. Mrs. Roberson was an active member of the Auxiliary of The Gideons International, The Study Club, and the Domino Gang. She was devoted to her loving husband Rob, with whom she enjoyed traveling; she also loved being with her family and friends and serving her church.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, E. L. “Rob” Roberson; son, Dewey Lamar “Tommy” Thompson and wife Merry; niece, Susan Beck and husband Cliff; step children, Robert L. Roberson and wife Patsy, Kathy R. Hale and husband Steve, Susie Roberson and special friend Sharon Jackson, Mary E. Dawson and husband Rick; brothers, James M. Pinkston, Jr., John A. Pinkston, and Robert C. Pinkston; grandchildren, Kyle Thompson, Cory Thompson and wife Katie, William Lavelle “Buddy” Roberson and wife Lois, Jennifer Duplantis and husband Matthew, Amanda Whitlock and husband Eric, Todd Hale and wife Whitney, Taylor Dawson, Erin Ely and husband Steve; great grandchildren, Anna Kate, Kyan, and Evan Duplantis; Alli and Drew Whitlock; Molly Hale, and Riley and Emma Ely; and special cousin, Ora Jane Sawyer.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Cory Thompson, Kyle Thompson, Todd Hale, Taylor Dawson, Eric Whitlock, Buddy Roberson, and Matthew Duplantis, and nephew, Cliff Beck.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Rob Roberson Sunday School Class.
