Mrs. Banks was born on August 23, 1938, and passed away on February 28, 2018. Her family was her world, and she spent her life in service and dedicated to them. When you walked into her home, you were immediately welcomed with love, laughter, and a delicious meal. Her kitchen was truly the heart of her home, the gathering place for every holiday or family event, and the backdrop to countless happy memories.
She was a remarkable woman. Mrs. Banks was always loving, welcoming, and tough as nails. She loved to joke and would often pull practical jokes on new friends. She and Billy had a love that was unstoppable, his sweetness matched with her spunk to create the perfect balance.
She took on many roles, and whether you knew her as Mary Alice, Patsy, Aunt Patsy, Mammaw or Momma, she no doubt touched your life in a way few people do and had left you with a lasting memory of an incredible woman.
Mrs. Banks was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Ruby Emory; her husband, Billy L. Banks; granddaughter, Shelby Deniece Banks; and brothers, Jerry and Edwin Emory.
