Martin Westover Schutz was a guileless woman, free of hatred, prejudice, and criticism. She moved to Monroe with her husband September 15, 1956. She became a teacher and was employed by the parish system for several years. She retired early and spent a number of years traveling, photographing, and enjoying life, especially outdoor events. Marti loved her church, her family, and her cameras. She will be missed by all who knew her, yet if we look skyward at evening, we will likely see one star with a little brighter twinkle.
Marti was born on September 8, 1933. She passed away Sunday, March 23, 2008. She graduated from LaPorte High School in 1949 and attended Texas University, where she met and married Edward. E. Schutz. This union produced three children, Steven, Kathi (deceased), and Kristi. Her life revolved around her children, but her special pride in the later years, was her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
