Martiel Stokes Kizer

Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Martiel Stokes Kizer, 98, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday February 6, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA with Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Kizer died February 3, 2024, at Ouachita Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Kizer was longtime member of Lea Joyner Memorial Methodist Church in Monroe. Martiel was born and raised in Mangham, LA. She was the youngest of 7 children. After graduating from Mangham High School, she moved to Monroe to attend Northeast Jr. College, where she met the love of her life, Ben Kizer, Jr. They were married for over 60 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lula Stokes, and her husband, Ben F. Kizer, Jr.

Survivors: her daughter, Debbie Eagle of Nolansville, TN; Son, Ben F. Kizer, III and his wife, Kathy, of Tyler, TX; granddaughters, Kim West and her husband, Matt of Nashville, TN and Kenley Kizer of Tyler, TX; Grandsons, Blake Kizer and wife, Jordan of New Braunfels, TX and Chris Eagle of Jacksonville, FL; special niece, Mrs. June Etier and special friends, Mike Sanders, Whitehouse, TX and Dot and David Key of Monroe, LA.

Pallbearers will be David Key, John Baldwin, Mike Sanders, Lux Crosby, Randy Smith, and Matt West.

Visitation will be from Noon until service time at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to Lea Joyner Memorial Methodist Church in Monroe, LA.
