Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Martha Golson Bacon, 76, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00am Monday, December 11, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, with Dr. Woods Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens in West Monroe.
Martha Golson Bacon was born on October 6, 1941, in Monroe, LA, and passed from this earth to her heavenly home on December 8, 2017. Martha was the daughter of Billy Ranson Golson, Sr. and Opal McCoy Golson. Martha was the owner and operator of Martha’s Unfinished Furniture on Antique Alley in downtown West Monroe for 25 years. She often said, “I didn’t make a whole lot of money, but I made many, many friends.” She enjoyed visiting with her customers, many of whom became life-long friends. She was a longtime member of Septien Book Club, where she enjoyed visiting with her close friends for as long as her health permitted. Martha is preceded in death by her parents; a special-needs child, Stuart Younger Bacon; and her niece and God-daughter, Jennifer LeBoeuf.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, James Kelton Bacon; son, Max Bacon and wife, Pam, along with their children Morgan Elizabeth, Matthew Kelton, and Mitchell Robert; son, Danny Bacon and wife, Toni and their child Conner Marie; brother, Billy Ranson Golson, Jr. and wife, Sarah; sister, Susie LeBoeuf and husband, Mike; along with nieces, Lendon Noel and Beth Golson; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Bacon, Mitchell Bacon, Terry Dumas, Lamar Marshall, Charles Tarver, Ronnie Dufrene, Reggie Roundtree and Fred Frantom.
Visitation will be held from 4:00pm until 7:00pm on Sunday, December 10, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice in honor of Martha Bacon.
