Martha Ellen Bauer

A memorial service celebrating the life of Martha Ellen Bauer, 77, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 6, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Rev. Darren Peterson officiating. The interment will follow immediately after at the Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.

Mrs. Bauer was born on December 28, 1946, in New Orleans, Louisiana and passed away on August 29, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Martha was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter. She was a graduate of the Class of 1965 from Neville High School, then she went on to college to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Martha worked at St. Francis Medical Center and Morehouse General Hospital before her retirement. Martha loved her dogs, watching tennis, and cross stitching, but most of all she loved her family, especially her grandsons. To know her was to love her.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry “Cliff” Bauer; parents, Sadie and Leon Fitch; and sister, Ruthie Finney.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Greg Bauer and his wife, Denyse; grandsons, William Bauer, Jack Bauer, and Sam Bauer; sisters, Marilyn Newton and her husband, Brian and June Harris and her husband, Bill; sister-in-law, Karen Bauer; Godchildren, Jessie Smith, Joey Buck, and Susie Wilson.

The honorary pallbearers will be William Bauer, Jack Bauer, and Sam Bauer.
