Funeral services celebrating the life of Marshall Wesley Sanders, 85, of Sterlington, LA will be held 10:00 AM Thursday July 1, 2021, at North Monroe Baptist Church West Sanctuary with Rev. Warren Eckhardt and Rev. Everett Geis, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA.
Mr. Sanders was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church and Standifer Life Group. He was the owner of Sanders Small Engine Sales for over 34 years. He graduated from Springhill High School and attended Louisiana Tech University.
Marshall was a 32nd degree Mason in the Springhill Masonic Lodge and a Scottish Rites Mason. He loved spending time in the outdoors with his family and friends hunting and fishing. He was also an avid fan of LSU football.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer Ravens and Esther Jewel Wise Sanders, and his sisters, Louise Hudson, Joy Hudson, and Ann Miller.
Survivors: his wife of 37 years, Vicky Brownell Sanders; Son, Wesley Sanders; Daughters, Teresa Sheppard and husband, Phillip and Kelly Eppinette, mother-in-law, Mildred Brownell, father-in-law, Malcolm Brownell, sister-in laws, Saundra Brownell, Sylvia Ragland (Fred), Annette Wilkes (Mike), Patti Nelson (Todd), and brother-in-law Malcolm Brownell, Jr.(Lauren)11 grandchildren; Allyson Borden (Early), Clint Sheppard (Lea), Katie Jones (Will), Whitney Pollard, Shelby Sheppard, Michael Sanders (Sarah), Tanner Sanders, Hunter Sanders (Desiree), Dakota Davis, Madelyn Sanders and Taylor Nelson; 14 Great Grandchildren and 2 Sisters; Patti Ray Finley and Sue Wreyford; his constant canine companion, Sophie; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nephews and great nieces.
Pallbearers will be Larry McDonald, Phillip Boatright, Danny Sisk, Michael Wilkes, Jay Eppinette and Robert E. (Butch) Miller. Honorary will be Todd Nelson, Jim Gray, Jimmy Goldman, and Steve Alexander.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kerry Anders and his staff; his caregivers, Tanya Lewis, Tamiko Smith, Brandi Canales and Tiffany Smith to his loving neighbors who all took special care of Marshall.
