Memorial service for Marshall Quinn Blackwell, Jr., 52 of Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Monroe will be held 4:00PM Saturday, July 8, 2017, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Rd., Monroe, LA, with Rev. Benny Jones officiating.
Marshall passed away on July 3, 2017, in Fort Lauderdale, FL. He was preceded in death by his father, Marshall Quinn Blackwell, Sr. of Mangham, LA; and his mother, Terry Jean Clingan Agnew of Monroe, LA.
Marshall enjoyed traveling, the outdoors and playing softball and tennis. He was an author and one of his published books was Killing Miss Love. Two of Marshall’s favorite sayings were “Relax and don’t sweat the small stuff” and “I’ll show you better than I can tell you.”
Survivors include his brother, Robert Blackwell and wife Cindy of Mangham, LA; sister, Lauren Wood; nephew, Slade Cooper, both of Monroe, LA; niece, Annie Blackwell Parker and husband Seth; niece, Melissa Ceney; great nephew, Blaine Ceney; nephew, Bennett Blackwell, all of Mangham, LA; grandmother, Margaret Blackwell of Albany, GA; and K-9 companion, Mason.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Newell, Duane Campbell, Stephen Harrison, Michael Moody, Andrew Prince, Michael Cummings, Luke Geyer, Bennett Blackwell, Tim Meredith, Walter Sartor, George “Big Dad” Prince, Tommy Jackson, Paul Tennis, Rick Regenold, and Wes Shafto.
Visitation will be from 2:00PM until service time Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
