Funeral services for Marsha Lea Bourn, 72, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, November 3, 2017, at North Monroe Baptist Church with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Marsha was born March 28, 1945, in Odessa, TX, and passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017, in Shreveport, LA.
Marsha was a homemaker while also retiring from ULM after serving 20 years of service. She was a member of BSF (Bible Study Fellowship) and Tannehill Life Group at North Monroe Baptist Church. She volunteered with Monroe Surgical and was involved with the Cake Ministry for Meals on Wheels. Marsha was remembered for her love and devotion to the Lord, and her family. She will be remembered for her kindness, thoughtfulness, generosity, selflessness, many friends, and especially being her family’s biggest cheerleader throughout triumphs and trials. She had a special love for her 3 grandchildren, and appreciation of her dear friends within the pharmacy community, as well as Texas heritage.
Survivors include her devoted, loving husband, William (Bill) Bourn; loving daughters, Virginia (Ginny) Bourn Knight and husband Brad, Cathy Bourn Shelton and husband Kevin, Carolyn Bourn Mathis and husband Corbet; grandchildren, Hannah Grace Knight, Will Knight, Mark Shelton; sister, Pat Aipperspach; brother, Mike Matlock and wife Debbie; and numerous nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by all.
Pallbearers will be Brad Knight, Kevin Shelton, Corbet Mathis, Curt Bourn, Edwin Adams, John Smith, Micah Koch, and John Anderson.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Thursday, November 2, 2017, at North Monroe Baptist Church.
Marsha had many favorite scripture verses, one in particular is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
