A memorial service celebrating the life of Mark Stuart Linkous, 63, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023 in the chapel of Whites Ferry Road Church, 3201 North 7th Street, West Monroe, LA 71291. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Kellett. A private family interment will follow at a later date.
Mark Stuart Linkous was born in Atlanta, GA on December 1, 1959, and was loosed from these ephemeral bonds to join Our Creator and Our Savior on June 29, 2023, after a sudden illness and brief hospitalization.
Mark lived a life of service in the Christian Church in both his home state of Georgia and adopted state of Louisiana. As a “jack-of-all-trades”, Mark applied a multitude of skills and acquired knowledge in commercial concerns such as plastic forming, laser cutting, and solar energy product installation. Mark was especially industrious and inventive, and in no way ever shied away from any task that was set before him. He was certainly not one to stand around with his hands in his pockets looking for something to do. His life of service not limited to just his immediate family, but instead, he made himself readily available to all those whose path crossed his and expressed a need.
Near and dear to Mark’s heart was music. He especially loved old hymns and worshiping God through music as one of the song leaders at his church. Mark’s appreciation for music began in earnest as a trumpeter in Lakeside’s High School Marching Band and continued later in life by doing his part to honor our veterans as a bugler associated with Bugles Across America.
Mark enjoyed the rich blessings of family and togetherness and the outdoors and was particularly fond of radio control modeling and flying with his buddies of the NEARC Flying Tigers RC Club.
Mark was predeceased by his wonderful parents, Joe and Nita Linkous of Atlanta, GA. He is survived by his loving wife Suzie and son Joshua S. Linkous (Tyra) and three precious granddaughters, Drake, Dakota, and Dylan; all are Louisiana residents. Other surviving family members include sister Estelle Froehbrodt (Rob) of Lawrenceville, GA, brother Joe Linkous, Jr. (Cynthia) of Lilburn, GA, brother Jeff Linkous of Jesup, GA, and a large flock of nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to encourage all those who wish to do so to contribute to the charity or service organization of their choosing in Mark’s memory.
