Funeral services for Marilyn Niswanger, 88, of Monroe, will be held at 2:30 PM, Saturday, February 21, 2015, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe, with Mr. James Tidwell officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe. Mrs. Niswanger passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at her home in Denton, Texas.Marilyn Niswanger was a co-founder and benefactor of Ouachita Christian School. She was an active member of Forsythe Avenue Church of Christ. She loved to quilt and rejoiced in her family. Mrs. Niswanger was preceded in death by her father, A. R. Lindsey; mother, Mazie Simpson Lindsey; brothers, Jim and Morris Lindsey; husband, Ollie Ray Niswanger and her son-in-law, Jack J. Smith.Survivors include her daughter, Rae Lynn Niswanger Smith; son, Joe D. Niswanger and Wife Jeannie; her grandchildren, Carey Ray Smith, Terry Lane Smith, Susan Quinn Smith, Jodee Lynn Niswanger-Bruyninckx, Raymond Fritz Niswanger, Rudolf Nelson Niswanger; 11 great grandchildren, Sydney Smith; Ashton Hassan; Addison, Caroline, Walker and Gray Niswanger; Emory, Ava Grace, John Carter and Noah Niswanger, and Joe Bruyninckx V; and her niece, Marsha Henson. Pallbearers will be the grandsons, Carey Ray Smith, Terry Lane Smith, Raymond Fritz Niswanger, Rudolf Nelson Niswanger, Alan Roge` Hassan, and Kyle Bailey Bruyninckx.Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until 2:30 PM, Saturday, February 21, 2015, at Mulhearn Funeral Home of Monroe.Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
