Services for Mrs. Marie O’Meara Ross, 81, of Oak Ridge will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rayville, LA with Father Philip Pazhayakari officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home-Rayville.Marie, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, joined our Lord in Heaven on Tuesday, September 16, 2014. She was born on April 30, 1933 in Philadelphia, PA. She graduated from Kensington High School in 1951. At the age of 20, she married David, the love of her life and husband of 60 years. She was an active parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Marie was president of the Oak Ridge Pierian Club from 2009-2014. She enjoyed volunteering with numerous charitable causes and organizations, with those concerning veterans being her most passionate. Marie considered her many grandchildren to be her greatest achievement.She is preceded in death by her husband, David A. Ross, Sr., parents: William and Marie O’Meara, and four brothers: William, John, Francis, and Robert O’Meara.She is survived by her eleven children: Theresa Hagen, David Ross, Jr (Cathy), Bill Ross (Nobie), Margaret McGowen (Tracy), Denise Ross, Mike Ross (Mary), Charles Ross (Madge), James Ross (Brenda), Mary Stokes (Tim), Robert Ross, and Sue Ross. She is also survived by nineteen grand-children: David Hagen (Skyy), John Hagen, Doris Ross, Timothy Ross, John Ross (Lisa), Nathan Ross, Daniel Ross, Beverly Collins, Thomas Collins, Katie Wooley (Ryan), Brian Ross, Christopher Ross, Benjamin Ross, Blake Ross, Matthew Ross, Elizabeth Ross, Megan Ross, Jacob Stokes, and Molly Stokes; one great grand-child Nora Marie; one brother Joseph O’Meara; and one sister Rose Hutchinson.Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, September 19, 2014 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Rayville, LA.
