Marie "Fay" Trichel Brown

A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Marie “Fay” Trichel Brown, 84, of Bernice, LA, formerly of Fairbanks, LA, will be 11:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, with Rev. Jeff Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Brown was born April 10, 1939, and peacefully passed away on December 30, 2023. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church. Mrs. Brown was a beautician for many years and then retired from school bus driving from the Ouachita Parish School Board. She enjoyed gardening, working in flower beds, playing her guitar and exploring musical instruments.

Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Ferris Ray Brown; two brothers and sister-in-law, Harold and Julia Trichel and Thomas Trichel; and brother-in-law, John Ben Brown.

Survivors include daughter, Robin Brown Ates and husband Tommy; grandson, Christopher Ates and wife Hannah; granddaughter, Madison Ates; sister, Azell Cain; sister-in-law, Mary Trichel;  as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.

Pallbearers will be Tommy Ates, Beau Benson, Christopher Ates, Wesley Harty, and K.D. Urrey, and Randy Welch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sawyer Urrey, Brad Brown, and Wayne Urrey,.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to longtime caretaker and beloved friend, Kathy Welch.

Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM Thursday, January 4, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
