Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mrs. Margie Houston Roane, 89, of Pasadena, TX formerly West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church Monroe, LA with Rev. Danny Kilcoyne and Rev. James Doughty officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverview Cemetery Monroe, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Margie Houston Roane went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, August 28, 2017 in Pasadena, TX. She was born in Gilbert, LA on November 30, 1927, and lived all of her life in and around Monroe and West Monroe, LA. She had recently moved to Pasadena, TX to be near her children.
Mrs. Roane worked for many years for Hudson, Potts and Bernstein as a paralegal, doing title work for the law firm. She had many friends at the firm as well as at the Ouachita Parish Clerk’s Office, where many of her hours were spent. Mrs. Roane was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, Monroe, for 40 years. She served on there as Sunday School Teacher, WMU member and in the Mary and Martha Ministry. Her favorite activity was serving meals for the Park View Apartment Ministry. She was a wonderful model of service for many there.
Mrs. Roane is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Harvey D. Houston; her husband of 23 years, Herschel C. Roane, Jr.; and her son, Larry D. Houston.
Survivors include her daughters, Susan Houston Kilcoyne and husband, Danny, and Ruthie Houston Hughes; grandchildren, Daniel Kilcoyne, Jr. and wife, Tiffany, Brian Kilcoyne, Jesse Houston Glassford and husband, Kevin, David Hughes and wife, Sarah, Summer Hughes Baker and husband, JW, and Luke Hughes and wife, Jessica; along with twelve great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Kilcoyne, Jr., Brian Kilcoyne, David Hughes, Luke Hughes, JW Baker and Gene Crim.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
