Funeral Services for Mrs. Margery Lake Richardson Wroten, 93, of West Monroe, LA, will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Dr. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Arrangements are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Mrs. Wroten was born and raised in Manifest, LA, a small rural Catahoula Parish community on March 9, 1928. She moved to Monroe, LA in 1948 and married the love of her life, Armand Wroten. Mrs. Wroten began a very distinguished banking career starting at First Federal Savings and Loan, and for the next 30+ years, until her retirement, she was promoted to Vice President and Board of Directors at First Republic Bank.
She was a loving and dedicated mother, who embraced her children’s activities, including hosting get togethers for all their friends, attending dance recitals and little league games, and going on family vacations. Mrs. Wroten was a faithful member of First Christian Church and First West Church, where she served on numerous committees. She was a member of the Garden Club and Quota Club. Mrs. Wroten enjoyed entertaining family and friends and was very involved in community events. She was known as the “World’s Greatest Grandmother” to her grandchildren. On May 22, 2021, her Lord and Savior called her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George Richardson and Gladys Heard Richardson; husband, Armand Wroten; brother, George Heard Richardson and sister-in-law, Joyce Richardson.
Survivors include her children, George Wroten and wife Susan and Julia Wroten Terral and husband Mark; six grandchildren, Victoria Worley, Robert Worley, James R Smith, Luke H Smith, Sarah Justofin and husband Jesse, and Seth Terral and wife Amanda; one great-granddaughter, Gabrielle Terral; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
