Margaret Louise Wood Conlin, 90, long time resident of Monroe, LA, passed away on February 24, 2012. She earned her undergraduate degree at Louisiana State Normal College in Natchitoches and her master’s degree in Education at Northeast Louisiana University in Monroe. She was a retired educator in the Louisiana public school system who taught for over 24 years. She was a long time member and Sunday school teacher at Parkview Baptist Church and enjoyed traveling, quilting and spending time with loved ones. She was the beloved family matriarch and was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Edward Conlin, and her three daughters: Mary Conlin O'Hara, Janet Conlin Robin and Christine Conlin Wright. She is survived by her brothers: Jim Price Wood of Belle Chase, LA and Billy Hall Wood and his wife Martha Nell of Haughton, LA; and their families; sons in law: Ray Wright and Dr. Richard Robin; her 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren: Lee Robin Heath and family; Kathleen O'Hara Sides and family; Erin O'Hara Birchall and family; Elizabeth Blackwell Carroll and family; Laura Blackwell Bain and family; Jennifer Ann O'Hara and Cecelia Francis Palermo; Christina Louise Sweeney and family; and Richard Conlin Robin and family. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Parkview Baptist Church, 1001 Forsythe Avenue, Monroe. The service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Zion Cemetery, Highway 71, Fairview Alpha, LA under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe.
