Graveside services for Margaret Ann “Maggie” Huey will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Brian Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation to be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mrs. Huey was born March 2, 1939, in Texarkana, TX, and passed away Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at Willis Knighton Hospital- Pierremont in Shreveport, LA. She graduated from Hope High School in Hope, Arkansas and Southern Methodist University. After graduating in 1960, she spent years abroad with her military family in Tripoli, Libya. She eventually returned to the

United States and settled her family in Monroe, Louisiana. For over 22 years, she was a beloved English teacher at Jack Hayes Junior High School and Ouachita Parish High School. She was a member of First Methodist Church for over 30 years. She was also a loyal supporter and volunteer for the Miss Louisiana Scholarship program. After retirement, she enjoyed reading, traveling with Joe, and being with her family. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge at the

Monroe Bridge house, where she achieved her goal of becoming the rank of Life Master. 

Preceded in death by her parents, Margaret Archer and Earl Lee “Blue” Archer; late husbands, Donald Usry and Joe Huey; and daughter, Sharon Usry.

Survivors include her son, Don Usry and his partner Aranya Chusang and his children, Donald, Neal, and Chad; her daughter, Catherine Huey Kelly and her husband, Tony Kelly; her son, Joseph Huey and his partner Margarita Movsesyan and his sons, Graham and Joseph, along with his wife Jennifer and their son, Jaxon; son, Steve Huey and wife Mary Huey; son, John ”Mike” Huey and his sons, Mark and John Huey.
