Funeral services for Margaret Ann Durboraw, 79, of Monroe, will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, April 1, 2011, at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church with Rev. J. Roddy Taylor and Rev. Fred Rushing officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Durboraw passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at St. Francis Medical Center. She retired as supervisor for the Pre-School Handicapped Program for the State of Louisiana. Mrs. Durboraw, a longtime resident of Monroe, was active in many local clubs and organizations and a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. She graduated from Louisiana Tech with Bachelors and Masters degrees. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, and devoted to her grandson Michael, the light, love, and joy of her life.
Mrs. Durboraw was preceded in death by her parents, Dayton and Lucie McGee ; and husband, Clive Durboraw.
Survivors include her daughters, Gaye McArdle and husband Frank, and Merri Lee and husband Mike; grandson, Michael Lee, all of Baton Rouge, LA; brother-in-law, Alvin Durboraw of Plano, TX; and niece and nephews, April, Barry, and Van Durboraw.
Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
