Marcus Covington, Jr.

Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Marcus Covington, Jr., 84, of Rayville, LA, will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville with Rev. Steve Murry officiating. Interment will follow at Rayville Masonic Cemetery.

Mr. Covington was born September 17, 1939 and passed away on November 19, 2023. Marcus served his country in the United States Air Force, earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He then went to work for Delta Airlines until his retirement in 1999. Marcus enjoyed traveling the world, reading, learning new things, and more importantly spending time with friends and family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus Covington, Sr. and Maudie Woods Covington; brother, Joseph Woods Covington; and two sisters, Cora Faye Cadmus and Jacqueline Johnson.

Survivors include his son, Wesley “Wes” Covington; granddaughter, Aubrianna Covington; fiancé, Janice Crenshaw; brother, Felix Covington and his wife Joyce; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. 

Visitation will be from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Mulhearn Funeral Home Rayville.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport and Mrs. Thelma Huckaby.
