Mamie Danna Russell passed away peacefully on May 28, 2020 in St. Joseph Nursing Home. She was 90 years old.
She was born in Lecompte, LA on August 6, 1929, but was a long-time resident of Monroe, LA.
Prior to staying in St. Joseph Nursing Home, she was a long-time member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Monroe. She also belonged to the Twin City Singles Group. She was dedicated to her family and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Odis Russell; her parents Francis and Joe Danna; her brothers, Leon, Nick, and Tony Danna; and sisters, Rose and Angie Danna; and grandson, Adam Russell.
She is survived by her son, Michael Russell; son and daughter-in-law, Daniel and Suzette Russell; and son, Robert Russell; grandsons, Brian, Brad, Tyler, Vincent, Reid, and Rylan Russell; and 3 great-granddaughters and 1 great-grandson; her sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Gary Walling, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2020, at 2:00 pm at Mulhearn Funeral Home on Hwy. 165 North in Monroe, followed by the memorial service at 3:00 pm. Entombment will follow at St. Matthew’s Mausoleum on Washington Street in Monroe.
Due to the recent COVID-19 restrictions, the funeral home will be limiting the number of people allowed to attend.
