Services for Mack Lensey Owens Jr., 88, of Dallas, TX will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 16, 2015 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with nephew, Rev. Ray Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Hasley Cemetery, West Monroe, LA.Mr. Owens passed away Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Dallas, TX. Mr. Owens was a banker and a business broker for over 50 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After graduating from LSU with a MBA degree, he was involved in banking in both Monroe and Dallas areas. During this time he was active in many civic and business organizations. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mack L. Owens Sr., and Gertrude of West Monroe and his son, Judge Mark D. Owens of Odessa, TX and his sister, Nell Foster of West Monroe.Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dwana “Dee” Byrd Owens of Dallas, TX; one son, Lensey E. Owens of Dallas, TX; one daughter- in -law, Teresa Owens of Odessa, TX; two grandchildren, Mark D. Owens II of Austin, TX and Merritt Owens of Dallas, TX; two sisters, Faye Haddox and Glenda Johnston and husband, David of West Monroe; and two brothers, Rev. Carl Owens and wife, Jean of Monroe and Wamul Owens of West Monroe, and numerous nieces, nephews, and many friends.Todd Owens, Chris Owens, Charles Byrd, Gerald Byrd, Casey Byrd, and Brad Johnston will serve as pallbearers.Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.Online Registry/Condolences: www.mulhearnfuneralhome.com
