Lynda Faye Carpenter Ernst

Funeral services for Lynda Faye Carpenter Ernst, 74, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Rev. Danny Hawthorne officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ms. Ernst was born on June 14, 1943, and passed away on February 19, 2018. Lynda was raised in Beekman, LA, and graduated from Bastrop High School and Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM). Lynda touched the lives of many, many young people as a second-grade teacher at A.L. Smith (now Sterlington Elementary School) where she taught for over forty years.

Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, J.T. and Thelma Carpenter; and her beloved husband, Tim Ernst.

Survivors include her son, Christopher Scott Rousseau; beloved special niece, Tanya Boyle of Lucas, TX ; and her many teacher friends whom she also considered her family. Special thanks to Suzy Sloan and Pam Martin, who played such a significant role in her care these last few years.

Pallbearers will be Dr. David Weber, Kevin Welch, Ricky Stewart, Robert Younger, David Oneal and Chris Boyle.

Visitation will be 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Sunday, February 25, 2018, at the funeral home.
