Lula Mae “Lou” McCall Richardson
Graveside Service for Mrs. Lula Mae “Lou” McCall Richardson, 96, of West Monroe, LA, will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, December 27, 2017, at Forest Park Cemetery in Shreveport, LA with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
Mrs. Richardson was born December 5, 1921 and was a longtime resident of the Shreveport Bossier area, prior to moving to Monroe in 1966. She was active in the Presbyterian church in both Shreveport (Westminster) and Monroe (Covenant). Mrs. Richardson passed away on December 23, 2017, at Ridgecrest Community Care Center in West Monroe. She was a loving wife and mother, who resigned from Bell South/AT&T to devote herself to her family and friends. She made her house a home for many beyond her family. A nearly endless parade of her children’s classmates and friends always found a seat at her table and a tasty meal to share. Her generosity and warmth drew many friends to her over the year’s. When not taking care of her family, she loved to read and solve puzzles of all types.
Lou was preceded by her husband, A.T. (Al) Richardson; her son, Barry Alan Richardson; and two brothers, Hughes Marshal McCall and Robert C. McCall.
She is survived by her brother, Alvin McCall; her children, Gary Richardson (Mary Alice) of Macon, GA, Charles Richardson (Janis) of Calhoun, LA, Janet Hilton (Jimmy) of Brandon, MS; six grandchildren, Adam Richardson (Amanda) of West Monroe, LA, Sarah Daigle (Drew) of Haughton, LA, Chris Finch (Summer) of Boise, ID, Jennifer Finch of Houston, TX, Matthew Richardson (Julie) of Atlanta, GA, Kathleen Richardson of Macon, GA; three great-grandchildren, Emma and Ben Richardson and Jonah Rulau; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Ridgecrest Community Care Center and Louisiana Hospice.
