Luke Mills

Luke was born on June 30, 1952, in Columbia, LA and passed away after a brief illness on August 12, 2023, in West Monroe, LA. He was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church and was the owner of Mills Refrigeration. Luke was an exceptional father, who was strong in his faith and made it a priority to raise his children in church. To know Luke was to love him. He poured his heart and soul into his work for over 50 years. He was a prankster and loved playing practical jokes on anyone and everyone. He found great joy in cooking and grilling for his family and friends. While he loved being surrounded by those he loved, he also enjoyed his quiet times in the woods, except of course when he shot himself in the leg. His ultimate joy was watching his grandchildren grow and watching them enjoy their extracurricular activities.

Luke was preceded in death by his father and mother, CB and Helen Mills; his brother, Mark Mills and his sister, Linda Sue Lacy.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie; children, Brandi Ray and Koby Mills and his wife, Mandi; grandchildren, Cason Ray, Gracie, Madi and Wyatt Mills; Siblings, Matt Mills and wife, Alta, John Mills and wife, Ginny, James Mills and wife, Judy, Paul Mills and wife, Carolyn, Shelia McGrew and husband, David, and Mary Harrell; numerous nieces and nephews, and  extended family, Dulce Reyes, Javi and Joel Gomez.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Audirsch, Jonathan Monterroso, Garrett Antley, Tommy Williams, Bill Avant, Mark Conerly, and Chris Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Matt Mills, John Mills, James Mills and Paul Mills.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church at 3834 Jonesboro HWY, West Monroe, LA 71292.

The family would like to say thank you to Dr. Donias and the staff of the CVICU at Glenwood Hospital for the excellent care that was provided to our husband and father.  They went above and beyond for us and we cannot thank you enough for the care and compassion that was shown to him and our family.
