Funeral services for Lucy C. Gober, 83, of Monroe, will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 5, 2011, at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church with Rev. Antonio Ranero officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Lucy was a devoted Christian with a passion for sharing the joys of her life with family and friends. She had a long professional career of service in nursing while raising her family. She also spent several years traveling with her husband Leon while his work took them to Italy and England. Lucy was active at St Mark’s Methodist Church in many roles including choir. In retirement years, Lucy enjoyed recreational travel with Leon and her sister-in-law Marie. She also found a love for crafting and quilting with her many, many friends.
Mrs. Gober died Sunday October 30, 2011.
Survivors include her husband, Leon Gober, Jr. of Monroe; sons, Mark Alan Gober and wife Tracy of The Woodlands, TX, and John David Gober and wife Judy of Chesapeake, VA; two granddaughters, Meredith Gober and Julie Gober; one grandson, Josh Gober; brother, Walter Savage and wife Miriam of Ruston, LA; two sisters-in-law, Marie Gober and Jeanette Savage; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Mark Gober, John Gober, Josh Gober, Rick Sain, and two additional friends from St. Mark’s Methodist Church.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
