Louis Redden was born May 11, 1950, and left this earth on March 7, 2017, in Houston, TX.
Louis was a preacher and started his ministry under the direction of Reverend Lea Joyner. He served as a minister at many churches throughout Northeast Louisiana. He also loved being a journalist. He started at KNOE in 1968 as a radio announcer, then reporter and also as a broadcaster. He started his “Backroads” series in 1987 and continued his travels until he retired in 2007. He was a dedicated husband and loving father and grandfather.
Funeral services for Louis William Redden, Jr., 66, of Calhoun, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 11, 2017, at Woodlawn United Methodist Church with Rev. Johnny Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mr. Redden was preceded in death by his parents, Louis William, Sr. and Marjorie Kate Folden Redden.
Survivors include his wife, Carmen Lofton Redden; daughter, Amanda Redden Watson and husband James “Bo”; and granddaughter, Christen Crow.
Pallbearers will be Dave Gore, Michael Shaw, Terry Folden, Ted Davidson, Jr., Tim Davidson and Rick Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be James “Bo” Watson, Alan McMillin, Leo Honeycutt and Jan Gates.
Visitation will be 12:00 PM until service time, Saturday, at the church.
