Mr. Whitlock was born October 23, 1942 in West Monroe, LA, and died February 20, 2023 at his residence in West Monroe, LA.
He enjoyed a long and distinguishing career at Graphic Packaging working his way up from the ground floor before retiring after 32 years as Customer Service Manager.
In his spare time, Louis was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed his free time fishing and hunting.
His true long-time passion was largemouth bass fishing. As a long-standing member of the local B.A.S.S. Chapter Louis won multiple awards in the many fishing tournaments he competed in.
Prior to his full-time career at Graphic Packaging, Louis held multiple jobs including playing music on the road. He was versatile in playing multiple musical instruments with the electric guitar being his favorite. He also played a regular gig at the Ward 5 Jamboree. At an early stage in his life, he traveled to multiple states playing music with various bands over the years.
Later in life, Louis came to know the Lord when Judy came into his life. His relationship with the Lord led him to music ministry at Grace Christian Mission in Columbia and ministering to the inmates at the Columbia prison in his retirement.
His family and loved ones take comfort in knowing that he had a close and personal relationship with the Lord, and that when the time came, Louis would be having a heavenly homecoming with his family that preceded him in death. He and his wife Judy were also faithful members of Cornerstone Baptist Church where his faith was on full display.
Louis loved his 4 children dearly and worked very hard to give them a good life. He instilled in them the value of working hard in life for a secure future. He also adored his many grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud of them.
