Louie Wayne Hendry

Funeral services celebrating the life of Louie Wayne Hendry, 83, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, with Rev. Gordon “Skip” Dean officiating. The interment will follow immediately after at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Calhoun, Louisiana, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home. The visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service on Wednesday.

Mr. Hendry was born on March 21, 1941, in Winnsboro, Louisiana and passed away on June 29, 2024, in West Monroe, Louisiana.

Louie worked for Graphic Packaging for forty-two years before his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. As well as a beloved member of Highland Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sue Hendry; his daughter, Lisa Hembree; and parents, Louis “Uncle Big Bud” Hendry and Ottice Hendry.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, Eric Hendry (Stephanie) and Tommy Elledge (Jeannie); daughter, Tammie Pate (Jeff Hosford); grandchildren, Megan Clark (Brandon), Jordan Hashieder (Thomas), Austin Elledge, and Graham Creery; and three great grandchildren, Khole, Isabella, and Addison. 

The pallbearers will be Randy Hendry, DeWayne Hendry, Matthew Hendry, Darrell Hendry, Steve Lawson, and Russell Pippins. The honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Copeland, Bryson Hendry, and Brent Bigelow.

The family would like to thank the staff of Landmark Nursing Home and Ascend Hospice for the special care Mr. Hendry received during his time there.
