Lorraine Harper EtierMangham, LALorraine Harper Etier, 94, was able to return to Heaven on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, after battling congestive heart failure.She was born November 9, 1920 to Gertrude and Tracy Harper. Lorraine grew up in Swampers and Mangham, where she graduated from Mangham High School. Shortly after graduating, in the middle of the night, she eloped and married the love of her life, Johnnie Etier.Their union lasted more than 71 years and produced two daughters, Camille and Kathryn. She was a lifelong member of Mangham United Methodist Church. In years past, she and her husband owned and operated the Mangham Dry Cleaners and were cotton and cattle farmers. She was called many things by those that loved her, Momma, Grandma, GiGi, Mrs. E, and A Tough Ol’ Bird. The last a nickname derived from her surviving breast cancer, uterine cancer, and colon cancer. She truly was a fighter.Lorraine is preceded in death by her parents, Gertrude Morse Harper Bell Roper and Tracy Harper, brother Joe Harper, her husband of 71 years, Johnnie C. Etier, son-in-law William J. (Gerry) Marchbank, daughter Katheryn E. Fife, and great grandson Caleb Fife.She is survived by her daughter, Camille E. Marchbank of Mangham, LA, son-in-law Tim Fife of Mangham, LA, and grandchildren William J (Bill) and Janice Marchbank of The Woodlands, TX, Johnnie and Laura Marchbank of Monroe, LA, Timothy and Jackie Fife of Baton Rouge, LA, Lynn Marchbank and fianc Ron Neel of Tulsa, OK, Jonathon Hunter and Le Fife of Rayville. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Carter Marchbank of DeRidder, LA, Blake and Sarah Marchbank of Monroe, LA, Savannah and Avery Marchbank of Tulsa, OK, and Ella and Rorick Fife of Rayville, LA. Along with a great-great grandson, Kaden Kleinpeter of DeRidder, LA.A memorial service celebrating her life will be at 10 am Saturday, July 25, at Mangham United Methodist Church in Mangham, LA with Rev. Eddie Ryhmes and Brother Marshall Sevier officiating.Visitation with her family will follow the memorial service.In lieu of flowers and in honor of her life, we ask that you make a donation to your church or favorite charity.
