Lorene Gilpin Vinson

Funeral Services for Lorene Gilpin Vinson, 100, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, October 16, 2020, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, with Dr. Larry Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe, LA. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Friday.

Lorene Gilpin Vinson was born December 24, 1919, in Fayette, AL, and went to be with the Lord on October 13, 2020, in Shreveport, LA.

Mrs. Vinson spent most of her life in Monroe, LA, and spent the last eight years in Shreveport, LA, living with her dear son. She attended Highland Park Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Monroe, and in Shreveport, she attended Broadmoor Baptist.

Mrs. Vinson is preceded in death by her loving husband, A.V. of 52 years; her parents, Emma Floy and David Haley Gilpin (Petal, MS); brother, Rayburn “Mickey” H. Gilpin (Petal, MS); and sisters, Louise Ingram (Petal, MS), and Vaudene Smith (Petal, MS).

She is survived by her loving son, Gary B. Vinson of Shreveport, LA; as well as two granddaughters, Courtney H. Vinson, and Peyton B. Vinson; two great grandchildren, Nathan Gibson and Evann Gibson; and many nephews, nieces, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jack Walker, Rob Garner, Mike Hartt, Brad Johnson, Joe Ingram, and Wayne Ingram. Honorary Pallbearer will be Carlos Brown.
