Funeral services for Lois V. Wiggins, 81, of Rayville, LA, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, February 26, 2011, at New Light Baptist Church, Prairie Road, Monroe, with Rev. Lindle Stewart and Rev. Jimmy Masters officiating. Interment will be in Wiggins Family Cemetery, McClanahan Road, Rayville, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Mrs. Wiggins passed away Thursday, February 24, 2011, at Richardson Medical Center. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was most remembered for her fried chicken and Sunday dinners, and loved to make sure everyone got fed by “Grandmaw”.
Mrs. Wiggins was preceded in death by her parents, Lucian and Bessie Dickens; brother, Frank Dickens; sisters, Dorothy Odom and Eunice Coleman; grandson, Joey Wiggins, and great granddaughter, Kiely Best.
Survivors include her husband of sixty-five years, Dempsey Wiggins; children, Wayne and Janice Wiggins of Rayville, Ronnie and Elly Wiggins of Zuni, VA, James and Robin Wiggins of Rayville, Colleen and Eddie McCaa of Monroe, Sue and David Trichell of Columbia, and Theresa and Jimmy Matlock of Monroe; grandchildren, Anita Elliott, Wendy Best, Kevin and Eric Hardy, Ronnie and Andrew Wiggins, Jamie Wiggins, Kenny and Jeremy McCaa, Daniel and Dusty Trichell, Jimmy and James Matlock, Josh Banks, and Mallory Williams; twenty-eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Bill Dickens and wife Melly of Rayville, and Tom Dickens and wife Gloria of Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jamie Wiggins, Kenny McCaa, Jeremy McCaa, Daniel Trichell, Dusty Trichell, James Matlock, Jimmy Matlock, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevin Hardy.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
