Lois G. Spires

Funeral Services for Mrs. Lois G. Spires, 89, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 5:00 P.M., Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Cypress Street Church of God in West Monroe, LA, with Pastor Neil Oldham officiating, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Spires was born April 15, 1928, Detroit, MI and passed away on October 2, 2017, at her residence in West Monroe. She loved to read, making ceramics and line dancing. She was a very skilled seamstress and loved drawing. Mrs. Spires loved drinking McDonald’s coffee and rarely missed a day doing so. She was great wife, mother, grandmother and friend, but most of all, she was a woman of great faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Lucille Hans, and her brother, Daniel Hans, and sister-in-law, Eleanor Hans.

Survivors include her husband of 57 years, John Paul Spires; her children, Nanette Emmons and husband Daniel of Flint, MI, Pamela Sandor and husband John of Rowlett, TX, John Timothy Spires and wife Renee of Monroe, and Kimberly Hawkins and husband Joey of West Monroe; seven grandchildren, Jessica, Ben and Jack Hawkins, Ashley Hendrix, Jonathan Mathieu, Lauren Manton and Joe Emmons; and six great grandchildren, Logan, Aubrey, Levi, Camden, Ahren and Emma.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Friday, October 6, 2017, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
