Funeral services for Lisa Busby Cole, 60, of Monroe, will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, September 2, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, with Rev. Job Edathinatt Scaria officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:30 PM – 7:00 PM, Saturday, at Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe.
Mrs. Cole was born on February 8, 1958, in Monroe, and passed away on August 28, 2018.
Lisa was preceded in death by her mother, Julia Faye Prince.
Survivors include her loving husband, David Cole; her three daughters, whom she cherished and adored, Christa, Cara and Cayla Cole; father, Jarrell Busby and his wife JoAnn; sister, Patti and her husband James Copeland; sister, Rhonda and her husband Andrew Branning; and brother, Jimmy Busby and his wife Tammy.
Lisa graduated from Wossman High School in Monroe, and LSU-Shreveport with a degree in Accounting. She was an accounting manager at CenturyLink until devoting her time to her family after the birth of her daughters. Lisa was a member of College Place Baptist Church and spent countless hours both inside and outside the church with her beloved Aunt “Dee Dee” Bailey.
Lisa loved dance and was the captain of the Golden Girls dance line at Wossman and was a member of the Warbonnets dance team at Northeast Louisiana University. Lisa’s love of dance was also shared by all of her daughters. She was a dedicated supporter of them from the ages of three when they joined the Linda Lavender School of Dance through Twin City Ballet. She also coached their dance teams at River Oaks and Grace Episcopal schools, along with her support and attendance as the girls participated in the dance and cheer programs at Neville High School.
Lisa was a dedicated mother to her three precious daughters and remained devoted to nurturing and supporting them throughout her life. This support for her daughters, combined with the soft spot in her heart for animals and the girls’ ongoing habit of adopting abandoned pets, resulted in a consistently high number of pets in a sometimes chaotic, but always loving home. She could never say no to her daughters and loved all her many pet family members, particularly her “little buddy” Coco.
Lisa was a loving and wonderful wife who was a constant supporter of her husband David, during their 30 years of marriage. She also deeply loved her sisters, Patti and Rhonda, and the three of them spending time together was a constant reminder of the special love among the Busby sisters.
Pallbearers for the service will be Brandon Breaux, Matt Cole, Cameron Copeland, Matthew Gilley, Cole Stewart and Dillon Woodard.
