Funeral Services for Linton Hynum, 82, of West Monroe, LA will be held 10:00 AM Friday, June 1, 2012 at McClendon Baptist Church with Rev. Rick Crandall officiating. Interment will be held at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, Monroe.


Mr. Hynum was born on May 23, 1930 in Pattison, MS and passed away on May 29, 2012 in Monroe, LA.  Mr. Hynum was a member of McClendon Baptist Church. He was employed with Mulhearn Protective Insurance Company for over 30 years and was a former manager Seale-Lily Ice cream. Mr. Hynum was a former Dixie Youth baseball coach and umpire for many years. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Hynum enjoyed fishing and hunting.


He is preceded in death by his brother, Robert Barron Hynum; sisters, Mildred Hynum and Dorothy Tanner.


Mr. Hynum is survived by his wife, Barbara; sons, Mark, Matthew and Luke Hynum; grandchildren, Blake Hynum and Lauren Marshall sisters, Earline Goza, Margaret Ann Brown, Betty Mae Wade, and Edna Pearl Raines; and special nieces, Robin Kelly, Julia Wiggins, and Edie Whittington, among other numerous nieces and nephews.


Pallbearers will be Mike Register, Joe Smith, Skipper Whittington, Anthony Sharp, Steve Brining, and Bubba Harrist. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jake Maggs, Gene Cox, Greg Cox, Stan Cox, Jay Warden, Raymond Guillot, and Tom Mulhearn.


Visitation will be held from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Thursday, May 31, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.


The family would like to thank his two nurses, Tosha Mollette and Cinnamon Carson for their care of Mr. Hynum.
