Linda Gay Hamilton Sumpter Jarvis

Funeral Services for Linda Gay Hamilton Sumpter Jarvis, 58, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 14, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA, with Brother Jerry Byrnes and Sister Carolyn Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Hall Cemetery in Alto, LA.

Linda was born September 2, 1959, and passed away June 11, 2018. She was a member of the Prayer House of Jesus Church in West Monroe. Linda led an adventurous life; she liked to make people smile and laugh. She was able to master many skills, including cooking, sewing, drawing and mechanics. She loved her family, friends, neighbors, cats, butterflies and music. But above all else, she loved God.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Hamilton; her son, James Sumpter; and siblings, Jimmy Hamilton, Melvin Hamilton and Mary Walker.

Survivors include her husband, David Jarvis; children, Michael Martin and wife Rose Mary, Darlin Gaspard and husband Eric, Brittany Walker, Brandy Jarvis, David Jarvis and Chris Jarvis; nine grandchildren; siblings, Raymond Hamilton, Barbara Robert, Dorothy Smith, Tommy Hamilton and Fay Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Michael Martin, Danny Spells, David Butler, Robert Stewart and Jonathan Heyl.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 13, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Memorials may be made to the Prayer House of Jesus in West Monroe.
