Mrs. Pipes was born on April 8, 1942 in Breaux Bridge, LA to Robert Adrien Conrad, Jr. and Mary Ball Conrad and unexpectedly passed away on April 29, 2014 at her home. She had worked as a secretary, interior decorator, bookkeeper, and her most important job was being a homemaker. Linda was a graduate of Haynesville High School in Haynesville, LA and went on to attend Louisiana Tech University and Northeast Louisiana University. She was a member of the Jaycee Jaynes since the 60’s and a member of McGuire United Methodist Church. Mrs. Pipes was very involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren as a room mother, school volunteer, little league mom, horse show mom, and numerous of other activities for her family. She will be remembered for her kind, generous, caring, and level-headed nature.
She was preceded in death by her close friend and ex-husband, Marvin C. Pipes; her parents; and a sister, Nancy Carolyn Conrad.
Survivors include her son, Derek Pipes, and his wife Deborah; her daughter, Shannon Leigh Pipes; grandchildren, Christopher Dylan Pipes, Maggie Elizabeth Cassuto and Jessie Leigh Dostie, all of Calhoun; and three step-granchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to a charity of choice.
