Lillie Marie Glenn

Services for Lillie Marie Speir Glenn, 88, of Swartz, Louisiana will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2022, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Road Monroe, with Dr. Alan Miller officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 until service time at the funeral home.

Mrs. Glenn was born September 20, 1933, in Swartz, Louisiana and went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, March 24, 2022. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Swartz where she faithfully served the Lord. She had a heart of compassion for the elderly and enjoyed traveling with the senior adults of her church.

Many people in Swartz have enjoyed her gift of cooking. Her specialties were fried chicken, dried beans, hot water cornbread, and chocolate pie.

Family was everything to Marie. She enjoyed being with her siblings, children, grandchildren, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Lillie Speir, her husband, J.W. Glenn; daughter, Debbie Lawrence Coats; son, John Glenn.
brother, George Speir, Jr.; sisters, Frances Cole, and Virginia Renwick.

Survivors include her daughters, Susie Fontenot, Sharon Kidd, and husband Gary,
Grandchildren, Jeff Kidd, Stephen Lawrence (Valentina), John Paul Fontenot (Amanda),
and Amy Fontenot; great grandchildren, Abigail, and Sean; sister, Patsy Causey.
brothers, David Speir and Jerry Speir.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Kidd, Stephen Lawrence, John Paul Fontenot, Kenny Cole, Ronnie Cole,
Cecil Glenn, Donald Hogan, and Lonny Norsworthy.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Avalon Place Nursing Home.
